Default i hate to be that guy...

i hate to be the guy that shows up outta nowhere and throws out some intense questions... but i'm at a loss at this point...

here's the truck - 2003 Dodg Ram 1500 Hemi 4x4 with 102k miles...

here's the story - driving down the freeway in the express lane and the oil pressure suddenly drops and pegs to 0... i'm in the express lane and can't get to pull over in time and the truck dies and i coast to the side of the road... no loud noises, no bangs, nothing really crazy other than she just died out...

here's the deal - the motor turns over and you can hear it back firing out of the exhaust... i've got spark to each cyclinder, i've got fuel, i've replaced the camshaft sensor, the crankshaft sensor, changed the oil (didn't look too bad, no noticeable chunks of metal), hooked up a mechanical oil pressure sender and it builds pressure, replaced the oil pressure sender, no codes are present... the truck turns over and really wants to fire up but just won't...

so... i'm at a loss... only thing i can think is that i've got a timing issue... i'm not digging talking apart the whole motor to get at the timing set only to find out that it's not outta whack... does anybody know a way to check my timing to see if i'm outta whack...?

Gonna be hard wit no code and nothing else to go on.

Do a compression check on each cylinder and see if you dropped a valve as 03s are known to do it.

You have fuel, but do you have fuel pressure? Maybe the pump took a dump.

It builds up pressure... And when you pull a plug after cranking it over, the plug has fuel on it... And atomize gas comes out the plug hole...

I'm getting all sorts of whacky readings on my compression text and it's makin' me think I screwed up testing... I'll get 90, 30 and then like 60 on the same cylinder...

Pull the valve covers and check all the springs, good chance there's a broken one---hopefully no severe damage, but it sounds like an unfortunate situation forced continued operation at the first sign of trouble-----take a deep breath, this one might hurt

I bought a remote bump starter last night... I'm gonna try and double check the compression now that I got that... We'll see how it goes...
