A short will blow a fuse. Recheck all your lamps - there's one out somewhere.

Well apart from fixing the problem (just kidding) I don't think anyone has every posted about disabling the 'lamp out' system. Most of the 3rd gen trucks have problems in the tail lamp circuit boards - that might be causing your lamp out warning. I had an intermittent lamp out warning for about a month before I found that my front marker light bulb was getting a little bit of corrosion and causing a weak connection even tho the bulb always work. But a new bulb and some bulb grease fixed that for good.

Mine was having the same problem, ding ding ding was driving me crazy. I finally got a new set of Tail light circuit boards from Ebay and that solved the issue. You can find them for under $30 for the pair with free shipping.

Default Had The Same Issue

I dealt with this for months, all my lights seemed to work but it turned out that one of the tail bulbs was going out, after I replaced a couple of them it went away.

Same as above on my old 04. Intermittent bulb. Would be driving for miles on the hwy and the stupid thing would go out, hit the brake "Ding!" lamp out. Get where I am going, check everything, lights ok. Finally, a nice washboard gravel road shook it enough to make it fail completely and I found it. Was annoying as it was a brake light. The filament was just barely connecting, between long driving time and the intermittent nature it was a bear to find. Not long after that, the other side went as well...
