Default Vandalism

Brand spankin' new 2005 Ram 1500
Quad Cab
4x4
5.7L V8
Molten Red

So I was driving home after a night out with my girlfriend at about 2am on Friday night. I was going about 40mph on a two-lane, when three cars came from the other direction. As they passed, I heard a thud from my side of the truck and immediately thought maybe my side-view mirror got clipped or something got rolled up in the rear wheel well. I rolled down the window and saw that the mirror was fine, and continued home which was only five minutes away.

After I got out and checked what happened, I found a giant streak of egg running across the driver side front and rear door. The front door had a giant chip of paint missing from the impact, with several scratches further back where the shell broke and fell away. After restraining myself from going out and killing everyone in the city, I washed that side of the truck off that night and went to bed.

Got my quote today at lunch: $357.00 for repair of the paint and clear-coating of the front driver-side door. [:@]

Something needs to die!

I was driving along a busy street when all of sudden my car gets lit up with paintballs. Some kids were hiding in a tree and painted my car with at least 50 *****. I didnt even know a paintball gun could shoot that fast. It sounded like a maching gun was hitting my car. It really pissed my off. Some hits left little dents and the paint took some time to get off. There is nothing worse than feeling helpless when all you want to do is crush those kids. I know how you feel although your story is a lot worse.

Defintely file a complaint. If they catch the kids that did it in the future, it is more for the prosecution's case. My neighbor did this with his mailbox, caught the kids a week later and thier parents paid the $20 for the mailbox after they confessed to doing about 10 or so.

I also feel your pain. I had my truck for 3 days when someone put 3 nice dings in the tailgate at a Home Depot. When I was parking, I gave the guy an empty space to load his wood, but I still got 3 nice dings.

New vehicles are like magnets for trouble. I had my 05 QC for a week and was going about 70 on the interstate when the Silverado two cars ahead of me dropped three bricks off the trailer it was towing. My front air dam took one and my shiny new 20" polished aluminum wheel took another. Of course, the Silverado didn't stop. He probably had to dump the bricks to get over 65 mph!

More likey he didn't even know he dropped them. Doesn't change the fact that it SUCKS though. Sorry to hear. Hitting bricks is nothing to mess with - glad no one got hurt..

Well, after reading these posts, I went outside and gave my new baby a good walk around. So far so good on the new ram. But, I can relate and have empathy for you guys that have had vandalism. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. When I was in Seminary in texas, my S-10 got its driver window kicked out, a crowbar taken to the dash and my pioneer removed. Did about 1600 worth of damage 500 of which had to come out of pocket. I tell ya, it is sad that some people seem to get their kicks out of destroying what others work hard to own and keep looking good. So many people just need Jesus and I say that not because I am a minister and its part of my job but because I am truly convinced of it. People need a change of heart and a solution for sin and he is the only solution. Those kids with the paintball stuff need Jesus and something else too. They need fathers who will bring back good old fashioned DISCIPLINE! This time out junk isnt working for our youth. When kids do something like that, they need time out alright. They need time out for dad to explain why it was wrong and then to turn there bottoms a rosey red so they dont forget it! Making them work it off out of allowance also would be good.
