Default 2002 1500 AC/Heater blower only runs on high speed

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.....

I have a 2002 1500 SLT with the diver/passenger dual AC/heater control.

One day, it just stopped. I discovered that it works on the highest setting (heat and A/C both) but will not run on the lower settings.

Could this be a relay? or the control panel (a new control panel is over $200 so I am hoping its something more simple.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to check it out?

Thanks
Mark

Most likely your blower motor resister is bad. I have had to replace the resister and harness pigtail on my wife's Durango. The resister is about 15 bucks or less, the pigtail is where they get you...I think around 60 bucks and you have to assemble it!!!

First try the connect uner the glove box (right above where your feet are) on the passenger side. There is a pug/connection that can come loose, if its unpluged, your fan will only run on high. Sometimes it gets kicked by people's feet...check it out first.

+1 on resister

It's an easy fix, I was going to do it on my wife's car(01 impala) but she said she don't mind it only working on high so I guess I'll leave it alone for now

I'm sure he has fixed it by now. Too bad he post and left without any updates...typical.

I have a 96 ram 1500 sport 4x4 with the same issue. First setting stopped and then a few days later it now only works on high. Anyone have any places or links of places to get the parts.

You need a new resistor bock and you can get it at your local auto parts store
