Those 35s have killed your torque. The 360 is a gas hog anyway. Have you cleaned the TB? A Sea Foam dose may help, but you've lost so much torque with the over-size tires, that's the most likely culprit.

EDIT: Your mileage is actually better than you think it is - your odometer is severely off, too.

I have only one word for you GEARS! Dodge and other companies have been forced to gear these trucks to get as good as they can on fuel mileage as a result they have no torque or HP at the RPMs we are turning at highway speeds. I live in PA and drive mostly 2 lane 55 MPH roads with my 01 RC SB and the 5.2 is useless in OD even with stock tires. When I start it up I turn the OD off before I move it and only turn it on if I am over 60 MPH and flat.

While I agree that 4.56 gears are a must, especially with a 4.7 or (1960s vintage) 5.9, I'm thinking Plenum Gasket has failed and he's getting blow-by out the a$$ for those kinda symptoms...

hammer is on it, take off that airhat and look down your tb, and see if you have oil pooled up, a small amount is normal, pooled is a problem. hows the maintenance been on the motor?
