Exclamation I'm a Freshie looking for help with 4.7L engine and lower control arm bushings

HA just spend the last hour typing a little something about me in here and then have someone log me off but now i'm going for what i'm here for INFO!!!, my 4.7 motor is making noses like a "lifter" knock people are saying and some times it sounds like a diesel truck and then some days theres nothing, another thing i'm having a problem with is the lower control arms and finding parts i'm pretty sure all the bushings are done for so they need replacing so i'm looking for where is the best place to get parts. so far its only the dealers and they want $428 for front bushing and control arm and $95 for the back bigger bushing for the lower arm, just want to know if theres something else out there cuz i've allready spent alot of money on this rig, if i could get some feed back it would help me on the mission to get this ram driving awesome once again.

Upgrades so for : New - both front wheel hub bearing (not ABS), both lower ball joints, both outer tie rods, daul cat back exhust, windshield, power steer hoes, BDS daul steering stabilizers, 4-5" rough country lift, add a leaf, 2" ready lift torson keys, BDS torson bar relocation breckets, 17" rims with 35" tires , break pads and rotors all around and hours and hours of body work removing rotted metal

Welcome to DF
The lifter type noise could be a lifter or the timing chain guides? I will move your post to the 3rd Gen Ram section. You may get the answers from the other members.

Is it a ticking or clicking sound, 4.7's are notorious for warping heads and blowing head gaskets and also exhaust leaks. It sounds like it could just be an exhaust leak which is not too expensive to fix.

Try summit racing, autozone, advanced auto for bushings. I'm getting ready to purchase a set of poly bushings for my control arms from summit.

i got the exhust looked at when i got the cat back exhust done, it was a custom bent and welded on, on the driver side the part of the exhust that was turns the flow to go under the truck to the passenger side was all bent in and i had that fixed up too, all fixed up now and looks really good stainless with smoked crome tips

and its a ticking nose, it ticks faster as i pick up speed, i'm thinkin it mit be a warpped head, never having the oil changed most likely would heat the motor up more then normal and speed up this notorious act

I'm driving an 03 2wd. This link should take you to a set of poly bushings at summit for 2wd Rams 02-05 upper and lowers. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ENS-5-3137R/
