Default Interior lights not coming on when driver's door opened.

Howdy
I just bought a 2008 Ram 1500 and noticed that when the driver's door is opened, the interior lights don't come on. What's really annoying is when I turn off the truck and climb out, the radio keeps playing.
I looked for a door pin in the door jamb and I don't see one. Where is the door pin and how do I fix this problem?
I called the local dealership and talked to the parts guy there and he said that it's all part of the door latch and that most likely, a flash of the computer would fix the problem. However I am skeptical of this solution.
Thoughts anyone?
Thanks

Bandit,

This vehicle has up to four door ajar switches, one for each door. Each switch is concealed within and integral to its respective door latch unit. The switches are momentary leaf contact-type units that are actuated by the mechanisms internal to the door latch. A short pigtail wire and connector on each door latch connects the door ajar switch to the vehicle electrical system through its respective door wire harness.

As far as if a flash will correct your problem, it would be hard to determine over this forum as I could find no TSB on this issue.

To close out this thread, after taking the driver's door panel off, I found that the 4 wires leading to the door lock area had been cut. 2 of them had been reconnected, but 2 had not. As soon as the other 2 were connected, things started working like they should. I have no idea why someone would cut those wires, but obviously, they did.
Thanks for the post!!

Unlikely they were cut. They do tend to split cleanly and make it look like a cut. Fairly common.

No, They were cut. 2 were spliced back together using butt connectors and the other 2 were stripped, wrapped and taped to the truck door using electrical tape. This was in the middle of the wire and not at a connection point like a wire harness...

Maybe at one point they had to replace it but then again it has disconnect clips on it
