Why don't you just install a 180* thermostat and get the added benefit of the engine actually running 15* cooler than just fooling the PCM into thinking it is???

I did the IAT mod not for the fuel (which gets tuned out at part throttle) but for the extra timing. I use it with only 93 octane and it seems to be pretty happy. The extra fuel just helps ward off knock at WOT. I have zero concern about MPGs.

IAT resistor wire bumps timing too?

Correct me if im wrong but doesn't the power wire trick the ecu into thinking its colder out? which allows the ecu to advance the timing?
So advanced timing should cause a lean condition not a rich one

Colder air is denser so it would run leaner but the ECU sprays more fuel to go with the (perceived) greater airflow. Thus, you get more timing and run a little richer at the same time. It's not great for gas mileage but it's the ticket for more power.

Ideally we'd like to have direct control over all of this but for years like the 03 we're stuck with manipulating the sensors to get the computer to do what we want.
