Yeah StaBil is very proud of their products, but back in the day they were about the only game in town as far as a stabilizer goes. I used it in my seldom used engines for years, especially my bass boats I've had over a 20 year period. But that was just the straight stabilizer, no ethanol treatment and I'd still have to deal with eroded lines and primer bulbs as well as having to rebuild a gunked up carb pretty often. They needed to step up and add ethanol treatment to keep up.

I went with StarTron because A) it was recommended to me by someone who had excellent results with it and B) at $8 for a bottle that will treat 128 gallons it's very economical and easily pays for itself in increased fuel economy.
Also, being as I've had multiple boats in my time, I've always used the StarBright products and trust them, not that I don't trust Lucas as well...

If I remember right the Lucas is used at one oz to every five gallons of gas where as star trim I one oz for 16 they are the same price so you would actually spend a lot more using the Lucas
