E rated Tires on 07 RC SLT

if you want crap tires on your car with a box than by all means stay with your p rated 2 ply ruber, E ratted or 10 ply tires have stronger side walls and better able to handel road hazzards and better off road, E rated rubber will still get flats but no where near p rated rubber.
10 ply tires realy have come leaps and bounds over P rated tires for traction, and handeling, a good quality ten ply tire will out last a softer P rated Good year Wrangler HP that go flat simply by looking at them, but if you want the car ride and soft side walls and under rated tires rate from the factery Stay with the crap dodge put on your truck.
C rated tires, 6 ply are the mim I would have a 1500 truck.

Whose talking about getting "P" ( Passenger ) rated tires. Off-road tires are "LT" ( Light Truck ) and "E" rated tires do not do that good off-road because of their inability to flex on the sidewall because they are rated for towing. A good "D" rated tire will do you right.
Take a look at your dodge dealers show room trucks, most will be P rated tires.
BfG RT TA is made in a P rated verrsion on the Titan and Ttoyota trucks, HP good year wranglers are p rated on the dodges.

I have run E rated rubber on half ton trucks Gm, Ford and never felt any issues with ride, braking or handeling, My trucks were work mules that would not survive with lessor ply tires.
Its my mind set that you want your halfton to haul up to factory rattings and lessor ply tires under mine factory rattings.
Even on a reg cab short box their will come a time when you may haul two dirt bikes, a quad, a stove, fridge, patio blocks, ect, now your 4 ply tires can't support the load and total whight of your truck ...
Empty 4ply tires just carry the load of supporting a empty truck

I have P265-70-17 Cooper AT3 on my truck with a service grade of 115T. Thats 2679 lbs per tire, or 10716 total load carry capacity of all 4 tires. I dont think I'd ever come close to stressing a P rated tire on a 1500. The E load range LT tires carry 3197 lbs per tire, carries more weight, but were not talking night and day here. I really do not see any value to running an E load rated tire on a 1500 series truck..
