I am also looking into headers myself. The one thing I will tell you is that everyone tells me if you go LT there will need to be custimization. If you go shorties then yes its basically bolt on; just make sure you use the mopar seals with it. But there are only a few good headers that fit on a hemi that are shorties. One is the GIBSON LOG header which gibson says does see some improvement on the low end, although most guy son here will say that model is a waste. The other shorties are BBK, JBA, and HEDMAN headers. BBK headers are the least expensive being aluminized steel that are ceramic coated I believe. HEDMAN are probably one of the best being stainless steel and ceramic coated. But they are also about $750 for thr pair. And the one thing you have to ask yourself is, do you really think you will get $750 worth of notice out of headers ? I would tell you probably not and the money would be better spent on a PERFORMANCE TUNER. I think for the money the GIBSON log is probably the best buy since its stainless, and ceramic and under $450.

Shorty headers don't do much on this engine, since it flows pretty good stock anyway. Those Gibson logs would do next to nothing and unless buying them as a basically lifetime stainless repair for a bad manifold you'd be pissing $450 away that you could spend on performance. $750 for long tubes you guys think is high for around 20 HP gains? Don't hang out with real performance guys then, cause a lot of guys are shelling out three to four times that to tweak out 3-5 HP.
My opinion, long tubes or leave the thing alone. If going to a cam, ported TB, heads, etc then you need the LT headers. If those aren't in your plans then put a maggy "Y" pipe on, get a better flowing muffler and call it a day...

understandable about people freaking over 3-5 Hp and spending oodles of money but I'm not gonna go crazy on it. Well I can't really say that just yet. But still gonna get LT headers will figure out the rest step by step when i get to it. I can only pay for so much at one time! haha

HAMMER I know those gibsons are possible a waste of money, and truth be told I would probably just use the ceramic coated BBK shorties that are around $340 which I feel is a good deal to repalce the iron manifolds from the factory. So here are my 2 questions to you.

1. What are your thought on BBK aluminized steel ceramic coated shorties ?

2. What is your thought on this link http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-2265959...7_2201_4298351 I love the idea of being able to control via blue tooth from my cell phone through an android app. The gains are supposed to be about 17HP and 21 TORQUE and for about $350 which I think is a great deal. Just looking for some input on both these things.

P.S. I did already order a CHERRY BOMB EXTREME muffler which is on its way and I will order my Y PIPE Friday. Is dual 2.5" inlet, and single 3" outlet the correct Y pipe from magnaflow ?

Thanks,

M.W.

Should read up in the SP forums I have heard amazing things about Diablo so I was going to order me one http://shop.diablosportpower.com/Dod...8.qscstrfrnt01 the u7137 only because i believe the trinity is for 05 up and im 04...

I would also like opinion on the BBK headers and if they are basically "useless" also what then mind you i dont wanna put that much work into fitting.

DON'T buy a Diablo tuner if you have an '04 Ram. I had one to try for a while and it's not 10% of what a Superchips is. NO tranny support for the '04s, and I'm not just talking the optional tranny tunes either. No firmer lines, no TQ management reduction and the tranny feels like mush.

It's like the '04s and prior trucks were an afterthought for Diablo and they didn't put any time or effort in the tunes. Now newer Rams, totally different story, but their tune on an '04 sucks ***** and I think that anyone who has tried both on an '04 you'll find would agree...

Yep i have a early build 04 and had zero tranny/shift options with DSP so removed it and went with SC3815/SCT. Still have one though to PID log.

Hedman lt's here. Direct bolt on to the ports with no trimming need for clearance. Used mopar exhaust gaskets and non foulers. Had it set up to a 3" single y
for years until recently when i wsnt with true duals.
