Question 2500/3500 coil spring swap

I have read a ton of posts about the 2nd gen guys swapping coil springs and shocks from a 2500/3500 Cummins into their 1500s, but have not been able to find a single thing anywhere about the 3rd gen. Does anyone know if the coils changed diameter from 2nd to 3rd gen? It seems the '94-08 4x2 front suspension hasn't changed a whole lot, so I'm leaning towards "it may still be possible." I don't necessarily want to be the guinea pig for it, but I've had it up to here with the mushy, car-like bounce I get from my front end. I want my truck to ride like a damned TRUCK. The ~3" of lift the coils provide, along with the stiffer shocks, will also assist with the weight of the steel bumpers I've been looking at.

Found some new info on the 2500 HD springs (MOOG linear OEM replacement):
  • End 1 Type: Square
  • End 2 Type: Tangential
  • Inside Diameter: 4.034"
  • Bar Diameter: .937"
  • Install Height: 11.00"
  • Free Height: 13.06"
  • Load: 2640lbs
  • Spring Rate: 1400

I can't find any such info on the 1500 springs, but until someone can provide info otherwise, I'm going to assume that the inner diameter of 4" is pretty standard across the Ram models. So if anyone can provide the free (unmounted) height of a standard '02-09 1500 4x2 coil spring, it would be much appreciated. The search for information continues...

Might take me a few, but I have a set of 03 2wd springs, but they have like 100,000 miles on them, this may affect the height of the spring.

If you could give me the inner and outer diameters and the free height, that would be fantastic.

Height looks to be 15-1/8", inner diameter is 4", outer diameter 5-1/2".

Nope. Original front 2wd coils. Now keep in mind, they redesigned the front suspension a bit in 06, this may account for the difference.
