Default Torsion Question

Hi all. I am a newb to trucks as this is my first! I have a 2008 QC 5.7 4x4. I am wondering how I know if I have torsion bars. I know it sounds silly, I just don't know what I'm looking for. I have been told by a friend that I don't have them, but I just wanted to hear from you guys so I can look for sure. Also, do not all 4x4 have them? Thanks

You do not have torsion bars. They started coil springs in 06.

Thank you for your help. So my options are to buy a leveling kit, or a full suspension lift. Oh well, so much for going the cheap route, might as well do it right the first time.

Well you could go with body lift and that's much cheaper then suspension lift

No you don't have them, but how friggin' hard is it to just bend over and look to see if you have coil springs or two bars extending back from the front suspension???

Ready lift has a 2.5 inch front level with a 1.5 in block for the rear I've seen some pretty sweet lookin rams 06-08 with that lift and 35 inch tires

I'm understanding this as that the OP really has no idea what either torsion bars or coil springs actually are. Nothing wrong with that, OP, as we all start somewhere. I don't think that he really knows what he is looking at under there.

So, yeah, as Hammer kind of said, if you see two bars coming back off the front suspension, you have torsion bars (which you don't, so you won't). Look at your front suspension and you will see springs over your shocks. That's a coil-over suspension... aptly named.

You do not have the "free lift" option that '02-'05 trucks have. You will have to drop some coin on either a leveling kit, a lift kit, or (my choice if I had a Gen 3.5) some Bilstein adjustable shocks.
