So guys I been doing a little looking around and what i have found is that there might be a problem with the Superchips 3865 on the 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L. I was wondering if anyone has any info on that? Like i said before, I am new to the Superchips or any tuner programers, but all i have in mind is putting a Flowmaster 40 series exhaust, K&N Cold Air Intake, and a Superchip 3865. Right now, I am getting around 16.3 to18.01 mpg city and 19.01 to 20.3 mpg on highway all stock. If i do go with the set up i am looking into should i see better gas mileage and horsepower?

With all the mods including the Superchip ya you will see some HP gain but as for MPG possibly go down because with all the new found HP you will gas it a lot more and with exhaust you will want to hear yor truck roar

I have the Flowmaster Super 40 and love the sound but it is a chambered muffler, it allows more flow then stock but if you want even better flow go with a Magnaflow or CherryBomb

stay away from flowmaster on the 4.7, I have a 2005 dakota and lost power with that setup got rid of it, you can get a larger throttle body to help engine breath better, I got rid of my superchips and went with the sct tuner, much better. also the k/n helps out, stick with the factory manifolds, on the 4.7 they work great, if you plan on doing exhaust, get a larger y-pipe, these 4.7 like that alot. I have quite a few mods on my 4.7, it goes great, but also my truck is lighter, not that many performance parts out there for the 4.7 but us guys in the 3rd gen dakota section know where to find them and how to tweak these motors

Well I got my exhaust on today. I went with the Flowmaster 40 Series and I am enjoying it so far. I have a K&N 77 series Air Intake coming in at O'reilly auto parts in the morning and will have it on by the afternoon. In a few weeks I'm going to order the Superchips 3865. I have another question for you guys, I am looking to dress under the hood up a little maybe replace a few hoses and change all the caps and dip stick just wondering if anyone here knows a good site to order from?

Billet stuff for under the hood. And you'll regret the Flowmaster soon enough from what I read. They don't call em "Rustmasters" for nothin

Props on the flowmaster I am a big fan of them. This time I went the route of the cherry bomb extreme and this also is a nice sounding exhaust.

I have also read about flowmaster rusting out fast but like I have said in many other threads I have one and it's holding but it's only a few months old but I have friends who has them and they are holding up also and they have had them for 2-3 years and where I live we get a lot of snow so they salt and gravel the heck out of our roads

Love the flowmaster super 40 sound but when I do change it out I'll be going to the cherrybomb extreme for the better flow and it's louder which it what I want
