Default 1500 gas to 2500 diesel cab swap

Hi i'm new here and was woundering if someone could give me some advice? I have a 2004.5 cummins with 4x4 that has alot of rust. I found a 2004 like new but is a two wheel drive 1500. My question is will this be a straight forwad swap or will i have to do alot of changes?

Any help would be apreciated.

Lots of changes...... that would be a LOT of work...... I think an easier course might be taking the good body, and setting it on your frame. Have to cut a hole for the t-case shifter though.

May have to swap the electronics over... Nah, make that, WILL have to swap the electronics over. I don't know what differences there are in cab wiring harnesses, the cluster will more than likely be different.....

Probably get better answers on that in the third gen section though. Might wanna post there. We are second gen here... up to 02 for the heavier trucks.
