Well if you go the HO cam route, then it probably will be best to go with the solid lifters etc for performance.
Someone will chime in here as I have qa Hemi and not a 4.7, so don't know much about the 4.7.
Good news about your engine not being too gunked up. The hydraulic lifters have tiny holes and parts in them, that easily sludge up if maintenance isn't looked after. So that's probably why you have this problem now.
Continue with the synth engine oil when you get this sorted.

It almost seems like I need to change oil every 2K miles instead of 3K. It has only been 2k and the oil is getting dirty again.

But I hope that this was the cause for my problem. I didnt know a lifter could cause so much trouble.

Found these just never heard of the brand.

Alot cheaper then solid ones.

Here are pictures to show the difference from the old rockers to the new updated ones there is a big difference. Sorry for all the pics just thought you would like to see the difference. The new ones actually sit balanced and the old ones will fall forward. On the new rockers the roller does not move at all and the old ones they move side to side a lot. The new rockers also do not have a hole where the lifter sits like the old one does Im not sure if that is good or not?

Here is where the lifters sat you can see a little bit of sludge but that must be enough to clogged them up.

I'm assuming that you havent had this truck since new and if so, the previous owner was lax on maintenance. So with that in mind and since you've only had the truck since Novemeber of last year, what your seeing by having to change out your oil every 2-3K miles, may very well be your synthetic oil doing one of it's many jobs ie, cleaning.
After some time, I would expect that this situation will get better.

Yea I am hoping it gets better with time. I just have to get the funds for the new lifters and rockers. Hope to get it done before fire season starts.

Well got my new lash adjusters and all of them are impossible to push down? Is this how they are suppose to be?

The ones that came out all move freely up and down.

Don't know if it's correct to have them like that?
I'd personally rotate the engine with a breaker bar on the crank and with the plugs pulled.
See if there's any binding or other problems, before your try to start it.,
Hope that helps?

I got the new lifters for 82.50 shipped. The rockers for 300 for all 16 but i didnt get them. I am broke right now and need my truck running now.

What do you mean not too have them like that? The lifters came stiff and I soaked them in oil for a few hours.

OMG imma kill this truck. I just repalced $400 worth of parts and the noise went away the first time I started it. Then the third time I started it the noise is back again load knocking sound nothing was wrong on the top end. I put 10-30 in and the god damn noise is back.

IDK WTF to do with this truck.
