4.7 rocker arm is bad
Says 5-30 but its still cold here.
Do you have any insite on what could be making this noise
It started fine. then the third time i started it the knocking sound came back and was hard to start.
That was with the pvc valve off when it started fine. then I put it back on and the damn noise comes back and is hart too start and idles like crap.
This all happened when i first ran out of gas.

This thread has been at the back of mind ever since I first read it. Now it's getting close to make a decision to trade my truck in or foot the the repair bill. The tapping is not horrible, just hate hearing it for the first 30- 45 seconds and don't know how long it will last before failure. Finally, I have spent about $1900 in tires, new Eaton differential, gears, air lift etc. in the last 2 months or so.
I hope someone is still looking here, I need help. My springs are not broken but must be weak on my 2004 4.7. Rockers keep falling off. I can not find any to buy. I do see a lot of spring spacers or shims. Will they do what is needed to keep rockers on?
