ram overheating

Default ram overheating

i have a 2005 dodge ram 4.7 that overheats only when the ac is on...just replaced thermostat last night and it is still overheating...any suggestions?

Have you checked the coolant level (ever changed the coolant?), and had someone check the fan clutch? How about the electric fan (I believe the Rams with the 4.7L had the electric fan on the A/C condenser, just like the Hemi Rams).

like said above check the coolant, if problem persists then recheck coolant levels b/c you probably have a very small radiator leak that you can't see yet. Happened to my hemi, couldn't see the leak unit i got the fan shroud off and radiator removed.

I would check and test your radiator cap.

also wash the radiator out, often enough dirt and bugs etc... plug the fins and it won't cool as efficient as it should.

Well, the A/C does not dump its heat into the cooling system, so that may be a coincidence. Are there any other conditions, such as traffic?
