90DB max limit in Cali. I don't like an open exhaust its too loud for me. just want a deeper tone.

I installed a Magnaflow 12641, 3" inlet,3" out. It is just about the same length as the stock muffler. Just had to turn the s-shaped pipe between the cat and the muffler 180 degrees. Sounds just as good as any dual exhaust I've heard.

S shaped pipe? Nice so that one pretty much just bolts on or did u have to have hangers welded too?

If I remember correctly, I just bolted it in, not as heavy as the stock one,So I didn't have hangers welded on.

I was talking about the y pipe in front of the cat. I always hear how restrictive it is. Wish I could change that but I dont want to deal with the failing inspection

Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought the Hemi engine factory exhaust consisted of:
2 cats coming off each manifold...
Coming together at the Y pipe and running down the rt side frame rail into the giant muffler, up over the rear axle and exiting behind the right rear.
2006+1500 Models w/ MDS had 1 or 2 resonators that have been mistakened for cats because of the placement of one right after the y pipe and b4 the giant muffler and the other one close to the end of the tail pipe.
But Cali trucks maybe different. I don't Know.

Yea the only Y pipe is after the cats. You're mistaking a cat for a resonator most likely.

You're right and that cat is on the passenger side I believe? I'm not sure but I know it's before the Y pipe
