Default First Post (and new 22" rims)!

Hey Folks - just picked up a 2004 Ram 1500 SLT QC 5.7 Hemi and promptly found this forum! I traded in my trusty 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I couldn't be happier. My first mod will be 22" rims (Falken Marquis - polished black center with chromed lip). I get them installed with some Toyos by this Friday (hopefully!). I'm also going to level her out - still deciding between coil spacers up front, or drop shackles/flip kit in the the rear (and suggestions?). Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to being part of the forum...

the look of a level ride is very nice looking, even if thats all one does

I've been looking into putting a leveling kit onto the front of mine for a while, my 2500 has the same stance of a cat coughing up a fur ball

Exactly - I just want to level it (raise the front to better match the rear, or lower the rear to better match the front). At this point, I think I'm just going to try some drop shackles for the rear to lower it about 1-1/2" to 2" (I measured the ride heights and I have a 3" difference between the back and the front). I don't want to slam it, because I want to keep the load capacity and with 2WD it seems silly to lift it a lot...

I know some will dissagree with me, but 2wd looks better when the back is leveled with the front, and 4wd where the front is leveled with the rear. but there are certian instances where a 2wd looks good when the front is raised even with the back.

but just like everything, beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Drew is correct, If you got 2wd lower the back, but for 4wd raise the front.

Okay - lowering shackles ordered (Ground Force part # 91142). Got 'em from sfxperformance.com for 82.16 plus 10.25 shipping. We'll see how it turns out!
