Question EGR code

hey guys, my check engine light came on and i took it to auto zone. they said it was an EGR code that was getting thrown. they guy said the part is about 90 bucks. anyone have any ideas on where this part is located and how hard it is to fix? thanks all.

Been there, done that but no t-shirt. Maybe for $90 Autozone includes the t-shirt. BTW - it's only a $72 part at the stealership...

I just changed mine on the same truck and it was pretty easy. If you're looking at the front of your engine, it's to the left of the pulleys, maybe a foot below the top of the engine. 4 bolts and an electrical connection to take off so the hardest part is probably getting a good angle to work on while reaching over. I've heard some take off the airbox but it really isn't that bad. Just make sure to remove the old gasket at the bottom and disonnect your negative before getting going. Just buy the part first and once you see it, you'll see how simple it is.

ok sweet. i heard on here that if you just take it off and clean it out real good and let it air out and put it back on it should clear the codes too. somtimes they just get carbon build up. but im going to buy it just in case the cleaning doesnt work. thanks for all the help hemi4109

10 minute swap on a Hemi. I've cleaned 'em before and they've worked for a bit, but usually got the code in a month or two. For the cost, swap in a new one...
