Hi guys, are the ebay ones worth buying? Or are they crap? Didn't find any posts so I had to ask.

As long as you get one that isnt broken you are fine. But remember these are NOT to pull and lift yourself up into the truck which most people do. I did a How To on how to repair one some time back but again, these are NOT made to pull yourself up into the truck

I know how it is. My wife kept pulling on it when she would get it and I kept warning her. Eventually she broke it and then she knew she was in trouble

My grab handle isn't broken yet but I was trying to remove it today and the bolt in the bottom hole is stripped and wont come out. I wanted to reroute the wire for my radar detector.
Edit: any ideas on what I can do to get the bolt out with out breaking my grab handle.

If you want it off then you will have to either drill the head off and then remove the pillar or break the pillar and then drill it out.

drill the bolt with a smaller bolt remover bit and use the easy out on a socket + extension, just did this on mine, I think the lady friend tried to have someone fix what she broke before giving my truck back lol

There are 3rd party re-enforcement kits available. They aren't terribly expensive and use aluminum sleeves and other parts to replace cheap plastic crap.

I made my own out of a length of small diameter aluminum pipe, cut pieces to size. I basically looked at one of the kits online and copied it.

I also replaced the stock pillar when it broke with the SRT pillar and installed a transmission temperature gauge in it.

ALWAYS MAKE A REPAIR A MOD!!!

I may have a like New pillar if I get my srt one this weekend. Pm me a reasonable offer if interested. It's beige, taupe color.

Hammer the trans temp exactly why I'm looking to swap pillars. Care to share where you tapped in? I've read test port on tranny, the pan, hot side of cooler. Perhaps a parts list of fittings etc lol. Also what temp range is your gauge? Thanks bud

The bolt head itself is in great shape, it is the POS plastic piece that it bolts into that is FUBAR. The bolt just spins in place. I'm guessing I'll have to drill the bolt head off to remove it.
