It's all a matter of opinion anyways. Cars & Trucks from every auto maker have their pros/cons. Most the people you hear pulling those stunts though are usually the idiots who think putting mudflaps and a rollbar on their truck gives them 100+hp.

I have to agree with you. It is all a matter of taste. It also has a lot to do with the way you drive and maintain your vehicle. Those that drive harder, will have more problems no matter what brand you drive. If you maintain your vehicle, it will last a little longer before something serious happens. They all have their problems. From what I hear from all my brothers-in-law, who all have their own mechanics business, The GM trucks have major problems with their A/C system, Fords have suspention problems, our Dodge trucks have issues with the rear end bearings. Ask around at the busy mech shops and see what problems are out there before you make an argument. See what your model truck is usually in the shop for. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Most vehicles are basically good cars/trucks. Most of the problems occur when you install the human driver.

I'll agree with the idea that they all have some problems. Check Alldata.com and search the TSB's and recalls for those trucks. I'll bet you see more for their trucks than ours.

To answer your question though. Tell the chevy bozos to line up with your truck and see what happens. That will shut their mouths 90% of the time. Especially if you own a Hemi. I know alot of people here at DF hate Fords, but truth be told, I'd own a Ford long before owning a GM POS. Next time you travel any distance on the interstate, see how many broken down vehicles you see. I'll be surprised if the majority isn't GM vehicles. Yeah yeah, there are more on the road than other makes, but by a percentage of what you see, you'll still see a higher percentage of GM POOPY broken down.

Sorry if this offends anyone. IMO

I pay no attention to them and go about my business. If they want to come up along side or strap something to the back and try to keep up, then the truth will come out. Otherwise I don't bother. It's all BS and wasted time. (my trucks faster. no mine. NO WAY MAN, mines faster. NUH-UH, mine will kick your's a$s...... and so on until it sounds like a bit#hfight.)

All mechanical things have/had issues. All trucks have problems - some more than others and none are brand specific. Different trucks have/had weak areas and have/had strong areas. In the end it's a wash.

Truck owners bashing other truck owners is a fact of life. It'll never change as long as God keeps giving men two heads but only enough blood to make one function properly.

Trucks aside, My Trans am has a few design flaws, one of the WORST being the distributor mounted to the front of the engine underneath the dreaded water pump. I've already had to replace it because of a failed water pump that leaked harcore all over it when it went out. My major gripe about the ford mustangs are the modular engine. The only real way to make power with them is to go with a blower or turbo, as replacing the heads and cams is quite a bit more work than the normal pushrod v8 that GM still uses. I do like dodge engines as well, my bro has a 99 dakota r/t with the 5.9. Hes done everything to that engine except stroking it..heads, cam, intake manifold, full exhaust, dropped hotchkis suspension and so on. Besides being really good from the factory, the ease of working on it and the way the engine responds to those items is pretty good. And of corse, ALL cars/trucks have somethine that can be griped about, its just getting thru the thick heads of the stuck up ford owners, and im sure there are plenty of chevy owners out there too who cry jsut as much.

Simple, ask them how many Shivvy-based design engines run in top fuel dragsters turning out 8000hp--ZERO! How many hemis--ALL OF THEM!

What engine holds the piston-engined, wheel-driven World speed record? A hemi.

What engine has gone the absolute fastest in a wheel driven vehicle--twin-hemis.

What engine pulled out of a production vehicle and put in a race vehicle has gone the fastest--you guessed it, a HEMI!

Then, you might ask the Shivvy people if they are starting to see a trend here. Most can figure it out by now.

And, if that doesn't work... blow their freakin' doors off!!!

(And for fairness, I can always point out that one of my daily drivers is a C-5 Vette--the only GM vehicle I've ever owned and worth every cent I paid for it).

All the best.

The Chevy vs. Ford vs. Dodge topic is ignorant.

Want real world feedback? Well for that I stop by one of my fathers construction sites. All of the guys who need to work there truck, tow or haul loads drive Fords. Yes Fords. People like my father who are too old to do anything and just run the show drive Chevy or Dodge. My father converted from Ford to Chevy for the comfort when he stopped needing to load up his truck everyday. There is usually a Chevy, a Dodge and the rest are Fords on the site.

Fords are more durable but less comfortable. Chevy and Dodge have a higher comfort factor and if you don't work it everyday will do just fine for less money.

Just tell them that you have a Dodge, and your noodle is bigger than theirs. LOL.

Then if they say anything call them a "chicky monkey" or a "meat gazer".

LOL. That should take care of them.

This was totally a joke so please dont get upset if you have a GM and a little noodle. LOL.
