I was trying to gun it through a yellow light today and it seemed to down shift to second but nothing happened. RPMs stayed at 6000 but it would not go. Let up on the gas then it seemed fine. I tried it again with AC off ect and it kept happening

I am not sure what it is doing. I have had the fluids changed 20kms ago.

Its a 2004 dodge ram 5.7 1500


edit, no error lights are coming on. Does this sound like a basic transmission slip ? Just looking for a heads up before I get it looked at.

 

You don't have MDS. When was the tranny fluid last changed?

 

Changed both difs transfer and transmission fluids under 20 000 KMs. Just over a year ago.

 

I have been trying to get the truck to do it again all morning. I can not get it to do it. Should i leave it or get it checked
