Request to Hemi owners

LOL! I dont give a flip about the shape and type of the combustion chamber. I am talking power and torque. When it comes to that, the new hemi is a hemi in name only when compared to the original 426. The old 426, especially if it was tweeked right, like my Dad said his old 426 hemi used to be, would scare people buddy! The new ones arent even close at least not yet. We'll wait and see about the new 6.1. I have driven a hemi rumblebee and while it is more powerful and quiciker than my 4.7 I wasn't a bit scared and not impressed enough to just have to have one. You guys with Hemis have nice trucks no doubt but they aint all that and a bowl of cherries when it comes to an awesome buch of power. I'll still keep my 4.7. Remember, lets stay friends guys and keep it clean. You can keep after me if you want, i will play along just dont cuss me or nothing please. Young baptist preacher here. Cant stand them there cussins.

I agree that it can be disruptive for a thread about mods for a 4.7 to be hijacked by hemis, but please learn your history before you start ripping on Hemis.
FACT the 426 was in no way the "Original Hemi" The 5.7 is very much like the "original Hemi" in that it is about 345 cubic inches and makes 325 horsepower the 345 Hemi was the first engine to do the one horsepower per cubic inch thing. You really have to hand it to Chrysler that even after the "merger" they are still somewhat high on history (at least as far as their engines go)
As for Consumer reports they are simply a left-wing organization funded by a bunch of trial lawyers. Not what most people would call "objective."
SO...In the future I will refrain from interjecting my 3.7 trash talk into your 4.7 threads if you promise to read up on Hemis and not pay too much attention to trial lawyers - deal?
Look, since I started this thread how bout letting me end it O.K.? It was obviously a bad idea. And by the way vipersforsale, I am not trying to throw my education in anyones face. My masters is in divinity which is theology. Hard to get but you are right, it has nothing to do with automobiles. You obviously know more about them than I do and I admit that. However, my degree is relevant to communication between human beings and that is what is going on here. This whole thread has now gotten an angry tone to it and I really didnt want that. Bottom line, we are all human beings with some differences of opinion about what trucks we bought. Thats fine. But since we are human beings we should care about each other and try to do things in a godly way. So, i apologize if I in my posts above offended or angered others. I repent and apologize. The only reason i mentioned education was to try and help people see I am not stupid and I think I know how to purchase the truck that is best for me. I didnt mean to sound high and mighty. Bottom line, it really doesnt matter whether we bought a hemi or a 4.7. It really doesnt matter when everything is said and done. All that matters is whether a person knows Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. He is the only way. Now that is absolute and unchanging truth no matter who you are. So, lets end this thread as friends.
<~~~got a PhD and a HEMI, so there!
Seriously, there will ALWAYS be someone out there to bash your ride no matter what you roll with. If you're truly happy with your 4.7, it wouldn't matter what others think. Unless, of course, one is in denial of having hemi-envy! What's next? Quad cabs vs. standard or long beds vs. short? That's why I don't give a cr*p about what Chevy and Ford owners say!

I repent... I am ruining the earth with my fossil fuel burning, air polluting, tire burning satanic beast of a machine, I should be saved... BUT I am loving every minute of it! So it wouldnt do any good anyway! HeHeHe
Hey dont worry about it, its not like we are angry or hate mongers against 4.7 owners or V6 guys and most of them know that. And I would bet that none of us(HEMI owners) feel anything but friendliness towards others to begin with, you just came into this not realizing how much Dodge owners in general have a tendancy as brothers(and sisters) to stick beside each other, but now you know.
Glad to see that now you understand where we are coming from, so I too am done here...
On to the next thread!

That's the funniest line in this whole thread.

Well Jeff all I can say is I was not trying to be funny there. I am dead serious about that one. I can only hope and pray you will change your mind some day my friend. God Bless.
In 02 the hemi was not produced with or without the tick, my 4.7 pulls my double ski trailer just fine, my gas mileage is satisfactory and I have to live with my choice.............A hemi would have been nice,.........
Stop the spread of ignorance, wear a condom !

I myself have an education in Logic: So tell me in a Logical equation, why would someone purposely buy the smaller engine knowing they would then want to modify it for more performance?
Then, what would make someone in that position think they would not get their ***** busted for doing such a thing?
I am glad you like your 4.7, when we were looking for a truck we were thinking about getting the 4.7 after reading a lot of articles ourselves, but we decided that the Hemi is the better (logical) choice (for us) if we were going to mod it in the future.
Also the tone didn't sound angry, it is human nature to argue ones point, you should know that as well...
BTW, welcome to the board, if you have only been here for a month then you will see this is the way of vehicle message boards. Read into it as you may but always realize there are people from many walks of life and everyone has their own oppinion, it is then your choice to listen to it, learn from it, or do nothing with it.
Hate to beat on a dead horse here, but as a fellow Christian, I know when to be more than a little humble. You can't start off a thread asking for people to stop ribbing you about the engine you got in the vehicle you chose, then turn around and start doing the same thing to others. On top of all that, you're making uninformed, ignorant and frankly pathetic statements and are setting yourself up to be ripped and ridiculed by others not as kind as me.
Dude, it's the internet. Buck up a little.
