Default Request to Hemi owners

Alright, here goes. Since I joined this forum about a month ago I have noticed a bit of a trend when it comes to polls or threads that relate specifically to trucks with engines less than the Hemi. I bought a new 05 Ram with the 4.7 and I am perfectly satisfied with it. But it is beginning to get on my nerves reading some of the 4.7 threads. We 4.7 owners come on, and post looking for what we feel is useful info. And right in the middle of it, some cocky Hemi owner will put a wise crack post in the middle of a thread that doesnt deal with Hemis and that post in essence says something to the effect of you guys who bought the 4.7 are just dumb or something. You should have got a Hemi. Most recently there are a couple of these type posts in the 4.7 performance thread. Some helpful info in there, but here comes the wise cracking Hemi boys who say, just rip it out and put in a Hemi. Grow up people. Folks are looking for info to help them not jokes about their truck. You bought the Hemi? Great, fine, wonderful for you. That was your choice. But my choice, yes CHOICE not settling, was the 4.7. Bottom line, the average 4.7 does get at least some better gas mileage and the performance is fine in my book. If you are not pulling something heavy, no need for the Hemi in my opinion. Anyway, my request is this. Lets all be adults in here. If you Hemi guys can help with valuable info, please post it. If all you can do is crack lame jokes, keep it off the threads that have nothing to do with your truck and start your own private fourm. You Hemi guys have nice trucks, just acknowledge that the rest of us with the smaller engine can have trucks just as nice, if not quite as powerful. Thanks friends.

It is a fair request, but will most likely be denied. How can you hang out and talk with car guys and not expect to get your ***** busted. No matter what you drive. It's some sort of law I think that ***** will be busted at every given opportunity. It's all in good fun.

Maybe you should have a comeback. How about mentioning the from the factory tick that pretty much every Hemi has. Stock free of charge tick with your brand new $30K truck.

Dude, its all in good fun. Like HemiBuell said, ***** were meant to be busted. No matter what Ram you have, it's still a good looking truck...and thats what matters. I'll try......to keep the jokes in the Off Topic forum.

If you get the smaller engine in a vehicle you're going to get your nuts busted, sorry that's the way it is. Just deal with it and say something just as clever back, the more you show that you can joke about it the less trash people will talk

Same here, what fun would it be to have a HEMI and not poke and prod the guys without? I am sure everyone has their own reasons for buying whatever engine they want/need but I just figure that if your going to buy a fullsize truck then you should buy the biggest, most powerful motor available(I didnt get the diesel because I didnt need it that bad and it doesnt come in a single cab shortbed)... you never know when your going to need the extra power to pull something or just for getting on the freeway. Plus it will sure help your trucks resale at the end with the HEMI in it, after all thats what all the hype is about to begin with.

And I bet your not getting hardly any better gas mileage than me anyway, even with a 4.7. I get 14-15 in town and 18-19 freeway, and I drive like a manic most of the time.

Lighten up - The mouse is a wonderful tool. You can skip any posts you don't want to read. I've owned two 4.7s and when I say the hemi is a better choice in a 5500+lb truck, I'm not joking.

I promise never to mention that my engine produces over 100+ more HP with not much worse MPG, or that it produces more feet of torque, or, or, sorry.... [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif] [sm=lol.gif]

we're getting 20 MPG freeway out of our hemi with a tick over 25K miles (and yea, it is a 05..lotta miles in not alotta months). Get that out of a V6 in a extended cab shortbed. We met a guy with the exact same truck and a V6, he was getting 18 MPG freeway. go figure.

Ok, I'll try not to post in the 4.7 section any more. So how many 4.7's are there out there anyway. ?
