Default 06 Ram electrical issue

I have an 06 Ram 1500 and recently the fuse went for my instrument cluster lights and rear cargo lamp. I replaced the fuse and my cluster lights work for about a minute, the dimmer and switch seems to work fine, but after a minute or so elapses they cluster lights turn off again. The fuse is fine but the cargo light won't turn off without pulling the fuse? I'm wondering if my whole dimmer switch is on the fritz or if it would be a short? Any suggestions are appreciated.

You can download the Service Manual from the links below in my signature. But with the lights on, if you put the switch I'm sure it would cut out. Welcome to the site

Thanks, I unplugged the headlight switch and the cargo light still stays on. Which makes me think it must be a short. Also I discovered the dash lights don't cut out unless the vehicle is running. I don't know how this is happening because it isn't blowing any fuses they just cut right out. Could it be a relay gone bad??

If you have a short, which it sounds like you just might, it could be causing all types of weirdness to happen depending on what's shorting to what.... I would start at the headlamp harness, start inspecting wires, and isolate that short (easy to say/type, I know) - fix that problem first. Then you can be sure one isn't causing the other....
