trailer harness has no +12v
trailer package, brake controller, 7 wire socket in the box for my 24' 5th wheel, and 7 wire factory socket at the rear.
I have an adapter I made up with a 7 wire plug on one end, and a cig lighter socket on the other, I use it at the rear of the truck to plug my 12v toy inflater for pumping up tubes and inflateables at the beach so I don't have to fight with cords through the cab plugged into the power port socket.
It doesn't work now, I checked the fuse, it is good and there is 12 volts at the fuse terminal. either rear trailer plug socket only has about what seems to be 8 volts from the +ve term to the GND terminal. My in-cab brake controller isn't showing any diagnostics, so I'm suspecting a problem with the positive power feed. (GND appears to be good.)
Is there any solid-state B.S. in between the fuse and the trailer plug on these trucks? If so, I'll just by-pass the factory +12v feed and wire a # 10 AWG straight to the battery.

Follow your wiring harnes back from the rear bumper, you might have damaged a wire. DC is not like AC and does not travel well through small gauge wire through several yards. The air pump might have been too much for the wire to handle. Ever wonder why your battery cables are so thick and short, DC is very hard on wire.
Weed, I had prevoisly d/l'ed your manual for my 2004 on a different desktop pc, but it isn't here anymore.

eather way, it seems as though the positive is floating (bad connection), or the ground atthe plug is floating (bad connection?). I don't have the ambition to try to troubleshoot the problems this truck has been giving me, it's getting a bit long-in-the-tooth, and nearing it's end of useful life.
the turn signals and running lights all work on the plug, as does the electronic brake signal, so I'm just going to run and fuse a new hot lead from the battery and establish a better ground - and prolly put the truck up for sale. It kinda sucks, as this truck was left to me by my Mom, and it meant a lot to me to have it, but it's just iron, right?
