Default suggestions on replacement brake rotors and pads

Hi, I have spent the past week reading this forum and any other thread I can find on peoples experience with different brake rotor/pad combinations.

My 2008 QC 1500 4x4 has just rolled over 60k miles on original brakes. I have seen a lot of people recommend the drilled/slotted packages. I live in the northeast so have to battle all elements of weather (sometimes all in 1 day).

From what I have read my gut is telling me to stick with a slotted rotor at best as the drilled ones can have further problems (cracking, stones eating brake pads). Most of the time the truck is my DD 50 mi round trip for work in highway commuter conditions. But I do tow various trailers throughout the month ranging in weights so I need something that will be able to perform well under all conditions.

It looks like the EBC pads have received the most positive comments with most running the "green stuff" range.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I went with raybestos pads and rotors. I now have 70k on them, I tow a Travel Trailer often. Never had any issues. My 2 cents

Drilled/Slotted from BrakeMotive (Our Sponsor) It's something like $230 shipped for all 4 rotors with ceramic pads included. I say if you want better pads go for it, but the rotors are fantastic.
Cracking? Nah, only if you drive through a slush puddle when you've been heating them up doing race laps..lol
I have blasted my rotors at the carwash right after runnng them hard on the highway. All I got was steam, no cracking. I live in Albany, NY and have been through all kinds of weather and have used their products the last 4 cars/6years. No issue's at all with cracking. It's all in how they drill the holes. They chamfer them now which prevents that from happening.

The only other thing you'll need to buy is a packet of Caliper sealant(anti-squeel)

Don't fall for the Advance Auto "20% off TODAY ONLY LAST DAY" crap either, that discount is available everyday and its ALWAYS the last day of the sale lol. I won't buy something from them without ordering it online for instore pickup because you always get 20% off. You have to watch too because on different pages in their site there are different codes. Some they are 15%, others 20%. The code is p20 for the 20%.

Thank you for the suggestions. I ended up ordering Raybestos Advanced Technology rotors and pads from Rock Auto. I will hopefully get them before the weekend as I am free on Saturday and doing other maintenance on the truck.

I will also follow the pad break-in procedures that has been suggested by other users in the forum.
