Got smoked by a SS pickup
Uh, I'm pretty sure that the truck 6.0 has different cams and heads so the bottom end is thicker for getting that 5k pound loaf off the line. Corvette engines are tuned for more top end power whereas the Silverado isn't. I don't think it was necessarily tuned down because the tranny couldn't handle it. The truck still has 380 lb-ft versus the corvette's 400, and torque is what breaks trannies. GM wouldn't put an engine together with a drivetrain that would break with 20 more lb-ft.

Not to worry about losing to that SS, the silverado ss has the all wheel drive system, but GM had to tone down the 6.0 the truck comes with thats why stock hp is 345 instead of closer to 400 like the new corvette. The all wheel drive system couldn't handle all the HP, so he won't be racing for long seeing how he will destroy his all wheel drive.

The truck 6.0L found in the Silverado SS is a High Output version of the truck 6.0L V-8. There are 2 versions of the same truck 6.0L V-8, the Standard Output puts out 300 hp, and the High Output version puts out 325-345hp depending on application.
For one thing the SRT-10 is the fastest production truck made. It set the world record beating the Ford lighting. I would love to see the 4x4 deisel beat a hemi. The only way you beat him is if yours is modified. There is no way if you was stock that you did.
I saw a Ford 4x4 long bed diesel with ladder racks and a tool box pull a 14 flat quarter mile last weekend at NE Dragway. Those trucks are fast.
It has a huge exhaust, and a towing tuner that's it. It was a friend of mine so I know there are no other mods.

I have raced several times and havent been beat by any other truck besides a Chevy SS and another Dodge. I have over 12 races so far and I have all stock. So the stock GM and Fords cant beat a hemi unless the driver sucks.

The 6.0L found in the trucks and the 6.0L found in the C6 Corvette are nowhere near the same engine. The Truck V-8 is LS1 derived making it a Gen III Small Block, the Corvette has the brand new LS2 which is a Gen IV Small Block.

I beg to differ you difference, but...
the LS2 is a mild revision of the LS1 to allow DOD (MDS for you mopar die hards). Heads cams pistons etc etc etc are interchangeable between the LQ4, LQ9 (the truck versions of the chevy Gen 3 6.0) and the LS2. The knock sensors are slighly different and the intakes need to be slightly modified to be made to fit. The LS2 also has "drive by wire". Differences in HP are related to compression, camshafts and flow differences between the intakes and exhaust setups. Long story short... take a LQ4 LQ9 or LS2 short block and build it up with identical components and you will get identical outputs.
