Default 2006 Ram trailer plug not working

I have an 06 Ram 2500 diesel that I just purchased. I get 12v and ground at the trailer plug but nothing else. Any ideas? I'm in a bit of a tight spot here as i'm leaving on Friday for a long road trip and i need this rig to tow my Jeep.

Is there a relay or fuse that could be bad and cause all of this? Checked everything under the hood and it seems ok.

Thoughts?

Sounds like an issue in the trailer wiring, nothing at plug with flashers and/or reverse on?

Trailer wiring works fine. Checked it with my wife's grand cherokee......all the lights work.

With the truck I get nothing, not even running lights. Tried 4 ways, turn signals, reverse...........all no go.

At this point i'm thinking i'll have to try and tap into the tail lights to try and get everything working.

Pre 06 models have separate fuses for the trailer lights.
I know that the 06's and up have a lot less fuses due to the TIPM wiring system. But I would still think the trailer lighting would have separate fuses.
But in any case check all your connections to and from your TIPM : the slanted black box that is in the rt/front of your engine bay.
I seem to remember a service bulletin from Chrysler to reflash the computer for similar trailer lighting issues but not totally sure.
Check the circuit boards for corrosion from underneath and clean all connections.
Hopefully your TIPM hasn't taken a S**t.

Good luck

Yes, i get constant 12v and continuity to ground from the plug on the bumper (round, 7 pin connector).

Thanks, i will double check the fuses. Is it difficult to check the underside of the TIPM?

The issue in that link sounds similar to mine, only that guy at least had some of his lights working. This TIPM thing is frustrating. I was up at the dealership today getting some new keys programmed and was explaining my problem to the service manager and he repeatedly told me that you couldn't "flash" the TIPM. I suggested that the only common link to all the probelms i've been having is the TIPM........he just dismissed it.

Oddly enough, one of my other problems (no drivers side low beam) has magically fixed itself after the tech cleared a code from the computer when he was programming my keys.......

Did you buy it from said dealership with the unhelpful service mgr and if so is there some sort of warranty that may apply? Or was it a 30 min or 30 ft down the street warranty?
