2008 Dodge Ram 1500 stall randomly
The sad thing here is she had a perfectly good running truck, took it in for a tune-up, where obvious incompetence caused an issue with the truck which ultimately lost a Dodge owner to GM.
I have an 08 3rd gen 4.7 Dodge Ram. I have a K&N CAI and put Iridium plums top and bottom(all 16 the same). I have replaced the throttlebody, camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, and the egr valve. It has died 3 time since I did this. I think Ill try the ASD relay next.
Thanks to everyone who helped me. You were all really nice and I appreciate the suggestions. I think we would have tried harder with the ram (maybe gone to a different dealership), but we were just flat out of time since my daughter and her horse leave for Davis in one week. Carmax was there for us so we gave up the ram. Carmax is sending it to auction and I sure hope it doesn't wind up somehow being sold to some unknowing consumer. Carmax says they disclose what is wrong with the truck, but I don't know about others.

try resseting yout tps sesnor. mine did the same thing, then i reset it and it hasent done it since. with the key on slowly press the gas pedal all the way to the floor then slowly return it all the way to the top, then turn key off. then try and start it, it migh not wanna start a couple times but it will. mine stumbled twice then on the 3rd start up it settled into a nice idle and like i said, never had a problem since. just thought id throw that out there.
In all honesty, Nancy, even without the issue with the truck, you are much better off with a Silverado 2500HD over the 4.7 V8 Ram 1500 if pulling a horse trailer anyway. The Hemi Ram would have been much better for this purpose - but having a 3/4 ton frame, be it Ram or GM is going to suit your needs better in the long run.
