Want to put a CAI in my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. 4.7 V8 Quad Cab. Long Horn. best one out there? what about the K&N products. looking for a little more power and better MPGs. After this upgrade will be installing a new after market exhaust system next summer. any ideas on the best combo CAI / Exhaust?

Best CAI is the Vararam but idk if its for the 4.7 plus it also cost like 400-500 bucks. Best thing to do is make your own and put a K&N filter on it. Look up Ewing's post he has the best looking DIY CAI yet. And power does not really equal more MPGs. While you will see gains from the CAI/exhaust it will take you awhile to recoup the money you put into the combo on gas

yeah unless you get one that is true cold air ram air, just making your own is probably going to be your best bet. Those are so expensive they are not worth it imo unless you have a full blown racing setup and need every last drop of power. And then you'd probably be looking at a turbo or supercharger anyway. Here's the link to my cai that 08hemi is talking about

Dosent look bad, and price isnt bad either. Just beware of cheap parts. I bet what ever they used for the intake tube isnt as strong as Schedule 40 PVC lol.
Im not sure on the bracket if you will need one or not but if the setup its self is heavy enough you will find out quickly that you will need a bracket.
