I want a Dodge, BUT???????????
I am seriously concidering purchasing a new Dodge Ram 1500, 2006, when they come out, but I have heard many bad things about Dodge Trucks. Can someone please convince me that I would be making the right choice getting a Dodge over a Chevy or Ford. Thanks alot!
I just recently purchased a newer 2003 1500 ram Hemi 2wd and i love everything about it! In the past i had made vows never to own any thing from dodge/Chrysler due to bad expierences with Dodge daytona tubo and lebaron turbo's. However you can't tuch a dodge truck. No other truck has the steel ***** of the Ram or dakota with a small block! Go dodge and join the family!
BEST LOOKING VEHICLES, BEST ENGINE'S, MOST *****! Go Dodge or wish you did when we out perform, out run and pull your truck out of a ditch!

I'm a Ford guy. I drove the F150 a week ago and it feels like you're driving a boat. The handling sucks. I drove the Dodge later that day and it handles a lot better. You can't beat that hemi either. I bought one on Tuesday. The interior of the Dodge is superior too.
I'm on my second Ram and I wouldn't get anything else. I've had a few Chevy's, but in my opinion, they don't stack up to the Ram. Sure, they're full of useless gadgets and gizmos that you think you need, but are just a way to jack up the price on you. What specifically have you heard about Dodge's that turn you off? All vehicles have their problems, but I've had nothing major from Rams specifically or Dodge/ DC in general. Drive them all, see what you like the best.
Drive 'em all then decide. You're going to spend good money regardless, so make sure you're happy. Like many others I really like the Dodge trucks but you're going find others that only like Ford or Chevy, whatever.
All things being equal, the Hemi and CTD are THE best engines on the market. If the CTD was in a Ford I would have probably bought a Ford (although I hate their transmissions).

I drove a 93 dodge dakota 5.2L until it had 208k miles with no major problems and no tear downs, the automatic tranny was original too. Thats why I decided to do the homework on the ram and then went and bought one. I have actually seen 22mpg on my 4x4 cruizing down the highway. If you check the mpg rating of the Hemi, you'll find its the highest rated fuel economy in its class. not by much, but its still no. 1. All vehicles will have problems, but if you take care of them, they WILL take care of you. Besides, its a great loooking truck!

Bought my 2005 RAM on 6 Aug 05 and I LUV it!!! I've been wanting one since Jan. My best friend owns one and he let me drive it....that was it. I KNEW I had to get one. Spent all that time doing research and comparing with other models (GM, Chevy, Ford, etc). None compares....NONE. Do your research and I bet you'll go back to Dodge. I also own a Honda Civic. That thing is now garaged regardless of the gas prices here in CA. You'll get what you want but like grantx5 said....have fun looking.
I've no need nor interest in "convincing" you, or anyone else, to get a Dodge. If you are that unsure, by all means get something else!
BUT, before you do, stop and think about why you see SO many Dodges all over when their owners could have bought something else, and some of us could have bought anything else we wanted.
Do what YOU want, believe the Shivvy hype or whatever else you want. However, if you get a Dodge, come back here... otherwise all the best to you... elsewhere.
