Default Purchasing a Ram - What To Look For

I am seriously considering purchasing a 2006 3500 5.9L Mega Cab.
Has 136k on it and it is Very clean and well taken care of, Garage kept!! Mint Condition!
Has all the extra the 2006 can get that year. TILT, CRUISE, FOG LIGHTS, POWER SEATS, NAVIGATION, SUNROOF, REAR TV, TOW MODE, TOW PACKAGE, HEATED POWER TOW MIRRORS, LEATHER SEATS WITH FULL CENTER CONSOLE, HEATED SEATS.
Has Aftermarket Wheels and Tires and 6" Lift Kit.

I am wondering about the price, they want $28,500 for it.....Is that too high???
KBB says that it should be $24,000

What things should I be looking for on this model year? Wear and tear items and common failure items etc.. They say the Front End has been replaced at 100K

that's too high for sure. kbb is usually high, so if they want 4k over that, no thanks in my opinion.

Lol at IZERO they didnt make a 5.9 gas in 2006

But to the OP Thats way to HIGH, they are making you pay for the lift and everything else, Look for a Cummins with 100,000 miles not to much more at that price. I would personally not ever buy a used lifted truck, or a truck with MODS done to it you could end up paying for some one elses mistakes or lack of care

It's on the high side of retail BUT a mint 5.9 CTD is VERY sought after and usually commands a higher than retail price. NOBODY wants a used 6.7 with all the emission crap on it if they can find a cherry 5.9 (which IMHO is along with the PowerStroke 7.3L, the best diesel engine ever put in a pickup).

My opinion - get 'em down as much as you can but if it's in the condition you say, don't pass the truck up over a thousand bucks or two...

Thanks for all the help guys.
From what I have found, it's hard to get a Mint 5.9L for cheap. I have to agree, that 1-2K is not much to argue about for this truck. I might have to see if they will come down a little closer to 25K.

One more thing, when I go to look at the truck in person. What should I look for?? Are there areas on the 2006 that rust first, that I should look close at??
Things that should be noticeable to a car guy?? I know my way around a truck and engines, but not this model or year. Some help would be great!

Sounds, Is the steering tight, is the body tight, when you drive it does it feel like its going to fall apart. look under it for leaks or any signs of leaks, even if they say there is no leaks.

That's pretty much the mother of all trucks right there. Don't find many like that anymore. Is it a dually? Is it a 4x4? Details man, we need details! Lol. If it's a 4x4 look (well feel) for the death wobble

I suggest getting one with 4 doors so you can take friends with you to places.
