my friend did the work but getting head rebuild cost me 300 for both. I would say if you ever overheated the truck the chances of having a warped are good. I was losing antifreeze for years. 2 years ago truck overheated and caught up with me this year with a misfiring plug.

as far as the vacuum sound or metal clatter I don't know if that's a symptom of a bad head.

Default So far good

Sorry to beat a old post but, I just wanted to update everybody that everything has been doing great!

Even the coolant level has not dropped at all since I refilled it after the flush... I would assume this is a good sign for the heads correct? I know a cylinder compression check is the best bet. I have just been really busy and actually today was the first day I remembered to check the reservoir for low levels.

I still swear I hear and vacuum leak and a clatter. Starting to believe that clatter is actually the slack adjusters for the timing chains? In a way that perhaps the chains are what I am hearing?

Thanks again guys!

Let me know if any of you replace that radiator and have questions! Will be happy to answer! Just remember to use the coolant with HOAT additive!
