Default problems with new truck

wanted to know if anyone else is having these problems.... i have a 2005 4x4 ram 1500, at around 1000 miles i developed a "clunking" noise in the suspension. I have taken it to the dealer 4 times and they think that it is the steering bump stops slamming into the lower control arm. Crawled under the truck and looked and there is some serious grinding on the bump stops and control arms. The dealer referred us to Chrysler, who in turn told us to take it back to the dealer (The typical run around). The dealership says that there is no fix for this problem. Then today i was merging onto the highway and the engine stalled (almost got slammed by a big truck on that one) it did it 3 more times right after that. The dealership of course said they had never heard of that problem. I am getting so frustrated with this, i love my hemi, but when you shell out 40k for something it had better run like a dream!

Try a different dealership...could just be they're trying to screw you around....but I would definitely try to get a second opinion....

Got any friends who are mechanics?? Friends of the family thru your relatives maybe? I would definitely get it looked at by a mechanic.....

I know this is an old post, but mine is doing the same. I thought it may just be the sway bar bushings, but it's not. It's never on bumps that both wheels hit, just when one hits a pothole or on washboard.
Anyone?

definately take it to an independant shop, so they have no ties with the dealership, that way you can get a straight answer. GL

The engine stall problem might be corrected if the dealer reflashes the computer. Google it, and you will see more posts on the issue. As others suggested, try another dealer.

I have an 05 4.7 with 18,000 miles on it and at about 2,000 miles mine too started to make a clunking or a poppingsound comming from the front suspension somewhere. I have been to several different dealerships to see what the problem was and they all told me they couldn't duplicate the sound so they said they just retorqued the front suspension for good measure...............didn't help. One dealership saidIt was my Rack & Pinion so they replaced it under warranty......didn't help. I fianlly called Crysler and complained so they said they would contact the dealership and everything would be taken care of. No more than 10 minutes after I got off the phone with Crysler the service manager at the dealership calls me and tells me to bring it in. I drove with him & duplicated the noise, so he then wanted to try & duplicate it in another 05 which we were unable to do. To make a long story short I just got my truck back yesterday and they said the noise was comming from the Intermediate Shaft (don't have a clue what it is. If someone could help me out with that.) So they replaced it & since thenI haven't heard or felt anything.......Yet. I'm not getting my hopes up, cause every other time it was in and they retorqued the suspension the sound went away for a couple of days so I will keep everyone posted.

Well today I was driving on the freeway and it sounded like I hit a rock or something and it was bouncing around under the hood. (Felt it in the wheel & the pedal) Just as that happened my steering wheel came out of alignment 45 degrees to the right and the knocking is still present. So I called the dealership AGAIN, and they said let them have one more shot.So after this trip my truck will havebeen in 11 timessince August of 05.
