RE: New Rammer
Dodge4x I honestly couldnt tell the difference between my 05' Hemi and the 06' Hemi. Power delivery and sound all seem the same. I cruised on the freeway about 65mph for about 20min and was getting 23 mpg (according to onboard pc). When you stomp it feels just like the Hemi weve all come to love.

Sarg,
The Hemi is a great engine, and if you really have the need for the power--get it. There is another option with the 4.7 that I haven't seen posted yet. The 4.7 is available with the e-85 option. This often equates to lower gas prices. I spoke with the dealership I bought mine from a few days ago and asked if there is any plans to make an e-85 hemi available and they told me NO!
Near as I can tell from the owners manual, no changes need to be made when changing over from one fuel to the other, either. The computer does the math and adjusts accordingly. There isn't many stations around yet that handle it, but there is a web site that tells of the stations that are currently selling it.
Just some more food for thought---

If mpg is an issue get a 06' Hemi with the MDS its projected to have a 10% gas savings over the current 5.7 it will boost your resell value and get either the same or better mileage then the 4.7. I test drove an 06' 2500 with the MDS (currently own 05' 1500 w/Hemi) and you can not tell the difference between the two motors power delivery wise. The extra cylinders kick in faster then the mind can process. Who wouldnt want 345hp and 14 mpg in the city its a no brainer

I drive a 1500 06 hemi, with exhaust i can hear a different tone when running 4 cylnders, and sounds great when i get on it, or at idle. when i had stock exhaust i couldn't tell a difference in running 4 cylnders or all 8

RE: New Rammer
I wanted a Hemi but when my gf financed my 05 Ram 4.7 4x4 with only 24K miles for $10 grand ( christmas suprise ).I couldent of been more happier with the outcome. Sure the Hemi is a better engine. Butwith my gf being sick with Lupis and are insurance being $650 a month on top of everything else..I am happy with a decent powered v8 Ram .. I think I would have been disapointed if I had a V6 though. I just dont see how they thought a v6 could power a full size truck. I mean even the smaller Dodge Dakotas have 4.7's.. Just dosent make sense to me
