Default "limp" mode

My tranny went into limp mode a while back. (05 Ram 5.7 HEMI)
I've been trying a lot of different things to get it out of limp mode. To no avail.
Throwing code P0700 and until this afternoon after a nice filter kit, new fluid and as a bonus. A drain plug..( I knew I was gonna be inside it again) P0888
My question is. If I throw down on a new trans shift solenoid. Will that get it out of limp mode.
Any help is much appreciated.

change the solenoid... your truck's computer put it into limp mode to protect itself... and to be clear limp mode is actually called "Limp Home Mode" which is basically just there to GET YOU HOME so you can turn it off and fix the problem before you drive around some more.

So before you start messing other things up get the problems that are indicated fixed first and if the CELs go away after you reset the PCM then you are all done...

I agree.

Pulling a fuse and clearing the CEL if applicable, DOESN'T help the problem, only clears the computer of thinking about it the next time it starts up.

In this case, I'd run some cleaner, such as SeaFoam through the gasoline and oil. Only costs about $8 a can, so buy one for gas, and one for oil; but only use about 6-8 ounces of it in your oil. This will clean the good stuff and see if something more major is going on.

Did a filter kit and new fluid on Sunday.
Took it to local tranny shop. They scanned the codes, erased them and said it should be good to go. I douubted that statement since I've spent A LOT of time under that truck the last several weeks.
I drove it 3 feet and it was still in limp mode.
The tranny shop is gonna run some more tests..
Im leaning towards replacing the shift solenoid.
Oh ya.The truck has 91k. Just dropped a new engine last weekend.
It all seems great except the E3 sark plug (I just found out) run too hot and the engine needs regular copper plugs.. I already have a misfire on the # 7 cyl.

The 2.7, 3.5, and 6.1 come off the line with platinum tip spark plugs, however the 5.7L comes factory with copper, which is what a lot of owners will say they only use to replace each time plugs are changed.
