CAI First but that wont do anything spectacular without a Tuner. Superchips get all they Rave around here.

And if you add the Tranny line booster and TRM delete that thing will prolly sit you back in your seat. TRM really will help with the tranny lasting

As soon as I find a CAI I'm ordering a Superchips Vivid Linq

Can you explain the Tranny line booster and TRM delete?
I'm told by the guy I ordered my Tranny thru that it already has increased pressure and I don't want to over do it...

Bulid your own CAI, parts at home depot!

Then steer away from the line booster he makes a good point!
TRM Delete is simpily snipping a wire. TRM stands for Torque Reduction Mang, What that does is when your truck shifts gears it allows the trans to slip then engage with out any feeling to the driver, The TRM delete takes away 100% of any slipping into gears but unless you floor it you wont feel it shift any harder but if you do floor it it takes no time to let the tranny slip into the next gear it throws it into that gear in a hurry but like i said with no ill side effects. When your truck allows the gear to slip that causes friction and friction is heat so it keeps temps slightly lower and dosent burn up your clutches as quick as the slipping does.
You are also in the same boat i am in, We have 03s therefor if we were to buy a Tuner we can only pick from the tunes offered, anyone with a 04 and up can buy a trans tune and really perfect the way they drive to get better performance or MPGs. Also in the Trans Tune they can remove there TRM. Since they cant just snip a wire.
I have had good luck with my TRM delete and Line booster that i installed on my Rebulit tranny(STOCK).

unless you're planning on adding over 150ft-lbs over stock I wouldn't be messing with the trans..... Thing is suppose to be rated to somewhere between 450-500 ft-lbs... but the Torque converter and rear end will give out well before that...

I wouldn't do this to my truck.... eventually you'll screw up the syncros and then MASH the crap out of the gears...

Pretty sure the engineers at K&N and Vollant get paid to make sure there is a better gain... and I'm sure it's more than I make so I'd trust their flowtested designs before my home depot solution...

and I'm talking about the TRM... Tranny Line boosters have been done ever since automatic transmissions came out practically.. but it still doesn't make them "safe"

I personally cant afford a $250 flowtested design. For +.5 MPG or 1 HP lol

And i agree that any Mod isnt safe to an extent.
The TRM has good raves everywhere i see it talked about.... now im questoning it.
Listen to him Brotten he knows more than i do and thats a fact. I guess if i was you Brotten i would just try your new beefed up tranny before you mod it.

new beefed up trannys can come with better solenoids and designs that might allow for some much firmer shifting, but then he'll need to upgrade the transfer case (if 4x4) and the rear end... and axles... so it all depends on his goals...
