Default CAI question

Just installed a volant cai with a custome tube connecting right to the throttle body. My question is when i hit the gas from a dead stop the cai sounds like stock then when it switches into second theres a pause then it roars. Is this normal?

Sounds pretty normal... your truck's computer needs to "learn" the new setup thats on there... reset the ECU to speed that up.

Agreed on resetting the PCM. Unplug your Neg Batt cable for 5 min or so then plug it back in. Pretty sure its not going to change anything with the sound you hear but your results will be better for MPGs and HP/Trq

I put an AFE in mine and I got the sound right away. It depends on the system you buy. For my Dakota I had an Air Aid system and I got the sound right away too.

Ground your throttle body as well. There is a thread on here. Many on here have done it. It does make a differance.

Ive got a volant on a 08 1500 hemi, I cant really hear a damn thing at all, which im ok with. Im running the Lower Air scoop to my right fog light inlet, looks sweet, just cant hear the suction.

OH BTW, are you running the power core? or the stock filters. I antied up for the donaldson filter. literally no restiction in the air. real nice.
