Default Throttle blade position

Doing some investigating of a random start issue on a 2005 ram 1500 with the 5.7 HEMI. Can anyone tell me what the throttle blade position should be at idle?

It varies depending on values read by the computer if its a Drive-by-wire (DBW) throttle, otherwise there are small holes that usually handle idle in cable driven systems.

So that's a VERY hard question to answer on a DBW system...

Ok. It is a DBW system. The computer is reading 0% at idle. A few others I have checked read between 0 - 17%. There has to be a listing of throtle blade position values out there somewhere. Just putting the feelers out to see if anybody has a list or not, and if it canbe adjusted by flashing the computer or not.

It should be possible to be adjusted by flashing the computer, but not many Off the Shelf tunes adjust idle throttle positioning, so you'd be looking at a custom tune most likely.

Ok what I am trying to figure out is that I have a starting issue once the engine is warm. First start of the day is fine. Shut it down adn it will fire right back up. Once the enging begins to cool down btu isnt al the way cool it will just crank all day, unless I go WOT. I have changed plugs, wires, IAT sensor, MAP Sensor, Crank Shaft position sensor, Checked fuel pressure and coils. I checked the coils Hot, cold and warm. So now I am going to change the Cam shaft position sensor. Since it only happens at a cretain temperature makes me think it is a sensor on its way out. If the cam shaft position sensor dont do it for me I will be lookign into the APPS and throttle body. If something was wrong in the throttle body would it trip the MIL or only after a total failure do you know its bad? When it is running, it runs like a scoulded gorilla, no harder on gas than the day I bought it. If anybody has any Ideas I am ready to take notes.

Try doing the grounding mod to your TB too... many people have experienced great success by grounding the TB... Let us know how it turns out

Ok. So I grounded the throttle body. Now everytime i turn the key on I can hear the throttle body do its self check or calibration, whatever it does. I havent heard it do that in a long time. I havent drove it yet due to it being time to eat dinner. I will drive it tonight and give an update to weather or not it fixed the issue.

Thanks
