mine was doing that as well this month, Would fire up for about 2 seconds then turn off and honk. It seemed to be realted to the codes I had on my truck. One of them was a small vapour leak. I cleared the codes and now the truck command start is working as usual.
Check into what codes are tripped on your truck. there might be something there that doesnt allow CS to work.

I scanned and found no codes...I disconnected the battery and left it for 15 minutes. rehooked up battery and tried the comand start...still the same..but I did find that the security light flashes 17 time rapidly then goes to normal flash. Any idea where i can find answers to this problem

From the looks of it the Command Start system works on a "v.i.r.t.u.a.l. tachometer" system, which isn't very reliable when it comes to temperature changes (winter to summer and summer to winter), so you'll need to re-calibrate the system by following the manufacturers installation & calibration instructions, you can usually find them in the box the kit came in or on the company's website...
Personally I've seen the brains on those units act up and have to be replaced before they work again, my suggestion is to replace it with a brand name such as Viper and have it installed so that is uses the real tachometer instead of the v.i.r.t.u.a.l.tach. (which means a wire gets run to one of the injector wires and soldered in place and then taped and sealed up to prevent corrosion.
for some reason this forum doesn't like the word "v.i.r.t.u.a.l." as it blanks me out when I type it... see: *******
