another 3.7L exhaust question
yup, got mine done yesterday and man does it sound good. I will try to put some pics and soundclips on here if i can, but the guy talked me into the 40 series, wit 2.25 piping and 3 inch Dual chambered tips, and it does sound purrty damn good for a V6.
ya, i have gotten on it a more than a few times, past 3 grand, and it does have..what you might call a "bite" to it, but no rice what so ever. Other than that i mean it sounds like a mean son of a bitch. Im the process of getting my camera to work, so i can get some shots up.
O.k. I have read all the post on this subject and have a few questions. First what is sounds rice? The second is you guys said 40 or 50 series who makes these pipes. Now here is my problem. I want a dualside catback system. I want to get more power out off my truck 06 manual. First I want to get the catback then some headers. But I dont want a exhaust system that sounds real loud, I leave for work early in the moring. Will the headers make the the exhaust system sound louder? I also want a bolt on system since I plan on put it on myself.
Rice Burner, ricer = japanese 4-6 cylinder cars with a can stick out for a exhaust. If you ever heard one, that's the sound we mean. High pitch, like high pitch eric.
40 - 50 series is Flowmaster. The 40 on a 6 cyl Ram sounds a little ricy.
IMO=In my opinion, yes they will be louder, but do you have a 6 or an 8?
Just to add to this thread, I dumped my SI/SO, right after the muffler. Removed the whole extension to the end of the truck. The sound is monstrous . . . at low rpms. But it does not get as ricy. Still has some growl. I was amazed that at 3000 RPMs, it sounded ok. I am not as embarrased.
I wonder if I open the other hole and make it into a SI/DO, it will probably help. My theory is that the longer the pipe the whiny the sound. I dont know just a theory. Or maybe because all the sound is under the bed. It just sounds better, especially in a parking garage, it setted off all alarms. It just pays itself with every smile I make.

yeah its under the bed, hmmm nice idea, mine is dumped right in front od my rear tire, i like the sound and 3000, sounds like nothing else, ricers wish they sounded like it, not a v8, dont bother me, i am pretty happy now with the way it performs, pretty happy
