Default swapping 4.7l for 5.7 hemi possibly.

I bought a 04 1500 4x4 with the 4.7 in it that is blown. I would like to but the hemi in it but don't know if it will hook up to the same wiring or bolt to the factory tranny and engine mounts. Anybody know if it's possible to do that or what I would have to do for it to work?

This has been done many times now. Try searching for '5.7 swap'. Both engines use the same transmission, you WILL be screwing with wiring however.

By the time your done messing with everything,You'd have been better off just putting a 4.7 back in.Besides the 4.7 is a great little engine. In some aspects it will out preform a 5.7 any day

That's news to me. In what ways will it out perform a 5.7?

How? The 4.7 and 5.7 get similar MPGs so I don't see how it out performs it

I meant that as the only thing I'd see the 4.7 being superior at.
