so started pulling the dash apart last night to get to the blend door behind the glovebox and noticed that this peticular one is controlled by the hot\cold hvac control and that it is working. i even unhooked the metal arm and it moves perfectlly by hand. also the temperatures do change whether i control it by the **** or by hand so that door is perfectly fine. does anyone know which other blend door controls the flow to the driver vents? i ordered every blend door today from advance auto and i even ordered the heater intake air control relay as well. i dont know where that relay is located but i was told to give that a shot as well. that will be the very first thing i replace. i figure start with that since its the easiest

You are certainly going thru hell with this problem, and I feel your pain. It is a poorly engineered system, with so many weak links that can cause issues. So it sounds like you are preparing to rebuild the entire hvac box, leaving nothing to chance. That's the best you can do. Just make sure to leave no stone unturned, and check the operation of everything before putting the dash back together. I am living with mine the way it is. I've replaced my recirc door, and my dual climate blend doors are still working. However if I switch from floor to defrost, it will switch to the top vents, but then will not switch back to floor. My simple solution is not to use defrost unless absolutely necessary. If I need to use it, I have to stick a long screwdriver in the driver side floor vent to flip the flap back to floor heat. Control between floor and dash vents, however seem to work fine. I have found the steel rod that connects the actuator on the drivers side to the door on the passenger side is not working. The rod connects at a pivot point on the front of the box. That pivot just snaps in to the box, and the tabs that hold it in place have broken off. I removed the rod and the pivot, and checked at the dealer about replacement parts. I would have to buy the whole assembly for 150 bucks, just to get the small plastic pivot. I know without pictures that's a little hard to follow, but I imagine anyone who has had these apart know just what I'm talking about!

I am having the very exact issue. My problems just started though...again. We had the heater core replaced back at about 100k miles, now at 178ish I have very little heat on the driver side and plenty of heat on the passenger side. I have absolutely NO flow airflow issues.

Driver air gets luke-warm after about 30 minutes, that's about it. I do have to say though, I have a small coolant leak at the tstat. It's obviously been around for a while since my coolant reservoir is half empty, but I just noticed it. Hopefully this is my issue and not the horror stories on this forum.

Recirculation door has already been replaced. When I move through the modes, I have the same temp at all flow levels and the doors seem to move at all selections. The floor vents flow does seem a little low compared to the defrost and passenger vents though, even on full floor vent mode.

I will be replacing tstat since the gasket is leaking anyway along with topping off the coolant and I'll see where it goes from there. I'll keep you all posted.

That's probably a blend door problem. Actuator is roughly behind the cup holder panel towards the right on a single temp. control.

changed the tstat gasket today. I noticed that while I running the the heat, it starts off toasty for a few seconds, then fades away to luke warm. I already checked the recirc door, my only other option is the blend door as you all are pointing to. passenger still toasty on all settings while the driver side will only get luke warm. will have to wait until I move.

Unfortunately, I will be extremely busy for the next 6 months with schools and my next duty station as a new Army recruiter.

Wat you talkin bout Willis. It's in the 30s in the morning and 40-50s in the afternoon before the sun starts setting. I usually ride my bike, but with rain/sleet/snow in the area, that's not always an option.
