The Mega Cab is built on the same frame as a 2500, but the spring rates are 1500. Mega Cab also is available in a 2500 with 3/4 ton springs. So no, the 1500 Mega should not be badged a 2500, as it is only a 1/2 ton pickup.
I have a 1500 Mega, and a guy I know has the 2500. They are sweet rides!!!

Yes they have a GVWR of a few hundred pounds less than the 2500. I don't remember off hand but there's some insurance / truck class issue once you're over 8500 or so.

you guys are right, the rear spring pack is a few leafs shy, different spring rate in the front. went and test drove it and it rides a lot smoother then my friends 3500 mega cab. took his over to compare altho a 1500 to a 3500 is a bit lop sided. what kind of milage is about avg for these and the 2500 quad? im guessin 12 13mpg empty 8 9 loaded, by loaded i will be pullin a 12000# fifth wheel. again thanks tim

Ive got an 07 1500 Mega Cab, im getting between 12 and 18 mpg empty.

~12mpg if im pushing it over 70mph or driving around town
~16-18 if im doing 50-60 mph on the smaller highways.

fuel economy takes a real nose dive once i push over 60mph

Ive been looking to Trade mine in, and was depressed on the trade in value here in Canada ($11-12000) with retail in the $16,000 range. mine is a Laramy with 148,000 Kilometers on it.

Intersting note on the rear leaf springs, my neighbour has a 2500 Ram Quad cab and the his rear springs have the same number of leaves as my 1500 mega (??)

Megas are very nice IMO, my 3/4 ton squats a little with my 10k camper but its also a nose heavy bumper pull.

I would think it would somewhat of a dog with the hemi though? Truck in the pic looks good!

I paid 18500 for mine, it's a 2008 Mega Cab SLT. when I bought it, it had 52000 on it.

It came with:
Bedliner
Flowmaster exhaust
K&N cold air intake
Step bars

Try to talk them down!
