Rear Defrost?
Just bought a 06 Ram 1500 4.7 Megacab. It has heated mirrors and rear defrost. The problem I have is that the rear defrost doesn't work because the wires that are suppose to be attached are gone. Please, does anyone know where they are suppose to be coming out of the rear panels at, so that I know where to start looking. I don't want to just start tearing it apart if I can help it. Thank you for any information you can provide.
I wasn't aware these trucks came with a defrost for the rear windows. I know they do have heated mirrors.
Easy way to tell if you do have rear window defrost is to look at the rear window. Does it have lines going across the length of the glass? If not, their is no rear defrost on that window.

Yes, it has the lines running across the back glass. I took the left rear seat belt off and removed the molding to look for the wires but couldn't see them. I'm not sure if they are running from behind there or if they come up from the molding behind the seat.

JW,
Why don't you PM me the vin and I will send you a build sheet. If it came that way from the factory perhaps I can look up the wiring on it. If it was added after then the wiring could run anywhere.

Thank you, I appreciate the offer. Just got back from the dealership. They looked it up and said it did not come like that. I already got my build sheet to. But thank you for you offer anyway. I saw a post on here where someone had ran the wires and all themselves so I guess I will have to read that and contact them.
Just run them to the battery through a relay and run the 85 pin and 86 to ground, and presto change-o you have yourself a new working defrosting system... just make sure the wires are on the rear window and you're set
Sorry to sound like a newbie, but what is the 85 and 86 pin? Don't know what that is. Unless you are talking about the pins on the relay. And if that's the case, where do I plug the relay in? Sorry for all the questions.
