Sparkplugs.........
Well.....I've got the plugs and this week I'll have the time.
It is a toss up, though...what to do?
Dig 5 sono tube holes for a deck in the backyard...or change the plugs in The RAM?
Choice 3 would be to watch TV and drink beer.
Should I start a poll?

For the record, you do not have to have a swivel socket to change the plugs in a Hemi. I did it without one, so anyone can. Didn't pull out the inner fenders either
Well maybe you were able to but I couldn't get the regular socket, let alone the extension into the back passenger side or the back driver side with the wiring and brake cylinder in the way. Regardless, the swivel socket will make the job more easier with less pain on your back and less time to do the change.
I have almost every hand tool known to man. I'll let you guys know the route that I choose.
My big effing hammer happens to be my favorite, though.
No one mentioned that here.

Since it snowed here yesterday....sono tube holes were OUT.
Sparkplug job is under way.
I chose to start on the drivers side because the first 2 cylinders are exposed. I haven't fiddled with coilpacks before and I wanted to start easy.
I've got the swing of it now and I'm now starting on cyl. #3 LH bank. I pretty much have to do the whole left bank at once as there is way more access with all the coil packs removed.
I need to drive my daughter to work later so I gotta keep an eye on the clock, as well.
So far....they are pretty evenly worn. Kind of a light tan colour. The electrodes are definitely worn down a bit and is reflected in the now larger gap.
Forging ahead....although my biggest issue is finding a comfy way of access. I don't have the same core strength as I once had so I find myself draped all over the engine.
The dealer wants $300 for a plug change. It's starting to look attractive.

Expect the worse....hope for the best.
It really wasn't that bad. In fact...I would argue that the passenger side aft plugs were worse than the driver's side. Maybe because of access and I'm primarily right handed.
Either way.... doing it WITHOUT a U joint would just be wasting time.
Sparkplug socket....u joint....3" wobble extension did the trick. I even used my air ratchet on the front 3 cylinders (once the plugs were cracked loose) of the passenger side to speed things along.
I moved the heater hoses aside, tie wrapped back the large wiring loom on the passenger side and removed the air filter lid and filter.
All 16 removed plugs look completely uniform and shows that the engine is on the healthy side.
Took me 4 hrs total....2.5 drivers side 1.5 hrs passenger side.
So in theory....I made $75.00 an hour. Not a bad day, eh?

Sounds good big guy. Glad you got it all done
No kidding. If I was going full throttle work wise I would still do it myself....after all....I use the truck for work!
No point in waiting for it AND forking out 3 bills.

The first time I did it $250+ felt like a good deal but after I did it I wouldnt pay anyone to do it. It was easy just time consuming and hard on the core. I am short so my feet were in the air most of the time and my 2500 sits a little higher then the 1500. Use the money you save for other mods or put a couple gallons in the gas tank
