Default 2004 manual 4x4 shifter indicator light

The indicator on the dash isn't doing its job anymore, I read that there is a switch on the transfer case - can any give me a picture or describe where that switch is on the transfer case? Figured pull the harness and ground the wire to see if the indicator lights up is a good test to see what I need to do (tear into the cluster or replace the switch).

Thanks!

Default test your switch to see if its bad before tossing $ at it

So the link was helpful, in that it made me go look at a 2004 manual.
I found good info and then uploaded the following information to my album:

1. a picture of the connector.
2. a depiction of exactly where this switch is located
3. the resistance values you should see when the shifter is located in each position.

Should be easy to test if you have a digital multimeter.

Enjoy!

That price is prior to shipping... I checked a couple online places I've used in the past, on small value parts its actually cheaper to go to the dealer and pay retail(I drive past one on the way home from work). Plus you have it in your hand, like right now.

But big $ stuff, online is the way to go.

I had the same issue when I first bought my truck. Previous owner told me light didn't work but 4x4 worked just fine...
Went to dealership and bought said part. I wanna say it was under 30 bucks, it's been a while... Ten minutes under the truck change out switch, and light worked again.
Very easy fix

Easy fix. Here in the northeast, it is common failure. Remeber to check the rubber O ring.
